A little bit about us.

From CareMonkey

The Operoo system was designed and developed by the CareMonkey company in Melbourne, Australia. Up until 2020, the Operoo product was known as CareMonkey. CareMonkey entered the market in October 2013 as a platform to automatically keep medical and emergency contact details up to date for schools.  The product quickly gained acceptance in the education marketplace and very soon thereafter was adopted by other groups. Scouts, sports clubs, choirs, community and church groups, camps, businesses, disability service providers and other groups all used CareMonkey to automate the process of managing information that was necessary for them to deliver on their duty of care obligations.

These customers made suggestions as to how the product could solve other manual or paper-based processes, and before long the system evolved into an important operational system.  From managing field trips, excursions, incursions and camps, to internal approval processes, injury reporting and online payments, to online consent forms, public forms and shopping carts.

 

To Operoo

In 2020, the Melbourne based startup had grown into an international company, with thousands of customers around the world and offices in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

Whilst the CareMonkey name was much loved, its focus on care/medical data, no longer represented the company mission and value proposition. It was time to rebrand and position the system as more of a whole of operations solution and so the CareMonkey product became Operoo.

The Operoo (CareMonkey) product is a much loved system by it’s users, and has won numerous awards including the 2015 global Slush startup award where the company won a 650,000 euro investment. The founders knocked this back, preferring to grow the business with organic revenue.

In 2019, a consortium led by Peter Bencivenga, New Ground Ventures and ReThink Education, approached and invested in CareMonkey, with Peter becoming CareMonkey’s President for the Americas and joining founders, Troy Westley and Martin Howell, on the board.

The company continues to innovate at a rapid pace.

CareMonkey’s Million Dollar winning pitch
